I believe

This still has to be one of my most favorite pictures of all times. I will never forget the joy in my daughters eyes when she touched Santa's beard.

Days gone by

I had to take this picture of my two little girls. There is something about barefeet and summer time that melt the heart. I can't wait to have this one framed up. If only they could stay little forever. Enjoy the rest of our quickly passing summer!

Summer Time

I'm not sure if it is just me but man is my summer flying by and school is almost ready to start. Where did our summer go?

I was able to take a small break from my photography and get to the lake for 5 days in early July. It was a much needed vacation but man could I use another 5 days of relaxation in bare feet, a lawn chair and the beach.

I've been up to my eyeballs in photo shoots. I've been doing lots of seniors and families, and babies, and more seniors and ...... well, let's just say I've had very little time the last few weeks to enjoy the last of my summer. I've also missed hanging out w/my online photography friends. They give me so much of my inspiration. I miss ya gals!

Well, I broke down and ordered studio lights. I had a disasterist shoot a few weeks ago due to a very LARGE thunderstorm and I knew at that moment studio lights are a must! So the Aliens arrived a couple weeks ago and I'm trying to figure them all out. I have to say, I'm still very very partial to natural light photography. I love the sparkly eyes that natural light provides. You can't get that in any studio lights. So I will supplement my photography w/a little help from the friendly folk at Aliens Bees when the crazy weather changes of Nebraska happen.

Be watching in the next few days for some sneak peeks of recent shoots.

One Year Old

I shot this cute adorable little girl last night and I had to share. I have been wanting to try out this iron gate behind my inlaws and this little girl and her adorable white dress were a perfect fit!

Fathers day

I spent the evening at my parents farm celebrating fathers day. The wheat field photos were taken just South of their home. Harvest should be starting up next week!

New Website

With great sadness and many hours of creating my website through www.photosite.com I have had to stop. I'm mad at first and then I'm just plain sad. My user agreement stated that I have unlimited upload capabilites, however, the email I received from photosite this week indicates that I have maxed their limit. (apparently they need to change their user agreement terms). Unlimited, last I checked, means limitless no end. hmmmm So for you current photosite users or future users, let me heed word of caution.... find something else before it's too late!!!

But on an exciting note, I am in the process of creating a new space over on smugmug.com . So far I'm loving the functions and features smugmug has to offer. When you get a chance please stop by and check it out. You can find me here www.htphotography.smugmug.com Be sure to bookmark me so you can find me again!

My photography business this summer is so busy. My motto, "Dishes Can Always Wait" should be changed to " My dishes are waiting and the sink over floweth". I am booked all of July & June and August is quickly filling. I'm starting to book September now with a few October ones coming in. Just a reminder starting in October outdoor shoots are limited to weekends only. So if you want an outdoor sitting you will need to book early to get a weekend session. Because of the craziness of so many bookings. I will be requiring a retainer fee for all sittings. The retainer fee will be applied to your sitting fee if you hold your appointment date. More details to follow on this matter.

I've also kicked off my "it's fun to be one" special. Starting in June if you book the indoor/outdoor session package for your one year old you will receive a free 8x12 custom designed storyboard of your child. Please email me for more details.

Well, I think that is all the news for now. Hope you all have a great summer... don't forget to get your feet wet and enjoy the pool!!!

My Dad and the last day with his John Deere Equipment!

Farm Sale

It was a bitter sweet day as my parents had their farm sale. I look back on their 50 years of farming and all the hard work and sacrifices they made to always provide for us as parents and then it's been sold in one day.
It was a very yucky mucky muddy day and if anyone grew up on a farm they will know just how muddy spring rains on a farm can be. Throw in 300+ people and 4x4 pickups with trailers and you can image just how the farmyard must have looked.

My daughter and nephew look on as piece by piece their grandparents farm equipment is being sold off.

The hayrack items weren't so bad from the cold in wind. Thank goodness for a windbreak. But the farm machinery on the North Side of the windbreak ....brrrrrrrrrrrr

12 Apostles

My sister is amazing! She is never afraid to seek new adventures and follow her dreams! She is also pretty darn amazing in her photography skills! This picture was taken by her at the 12 Apostles in AU. She went on Holiday and traveled ocean side! Oh how I wish I were along with her to experience such beauty! It looks like a photographers dream!

I know Sister #5 (the slobbery one) is going to kill me for posting these but they make me think of her and how much fun it was having her around and being my bestest friend growing up. I can't imagine my life w/out her. She is on temporary assignment working over in Austraila for the next six months. I miss her dearly but luckily for our wonderful modern pc technology I am able to talk to her every week. Anyhow, I'm just missing her right now and can't wait for her to come back home!!!

People... are you checking out the 1970's funk decor in our home! OMG!!!!!

Christmas Card Bound

Today I finally had time to take some pictures for our Xmas card and the girls were gracious enough to allow me the rare opportunity to photograph them and actually cooperate! Here they are !!! Don't they look so grown up?

I'm not sure which version I will use yet. I used my BBB action first then applied Tina Parkers Pastel Vibe and BNW Action.
